IS PHOTOGRAPHY DEAD NOW?
Well, that kind is pretty much dead !
#1 - today's amateur photographer
Well, let's look at what photography has become now:
It is obvious that with all the great technology in cell phone cameras, that the new photography will be nothing more than a new type of street photography:
And what this really means is that we all have to live with a huge number of people just taking pictures of anything, and everything that mean absolutely nothing to any of us, but them. And when you get to a group of them, they will say: " you want to see my pictures?" And you are thinking: NO! Please NO! I don't want to see your selfies of all your friends acting silly. Even some of those real good professional Street Photographers are thinking that Street Photography has become a dirty word now.
I like what another photographer said about this type of photography today:
"What it does mean, though, is that we now find ourselves in a situation in life where we are constantly bombarded with, shall I say, sub-par imagery. Where once only the best of images would grace the public viewing field, now with only self-criticism and self-curated imagery we find ourselves inundated with utterly unimaginative and even technically inept photography gracing our lives." - Frank Perez
But wait, maybe we should let all this type of photography just do it's thing. Ride it's course. Let the cell phone companies have their day. There are companies making money creating albums now that can make money off this type of photography. And we can let them have their day! There is another type of photography or Photographer ! LONG LIVE THE CREATIVE MIND

So, the gap between the amateur, posting all those selfies on Facebook and Twitter vs, the ones that Professionals are doing, where they are being creative, and showing their photos to those who really "LIKE" creative photography is widening. And someday, the creative photographer will come out as a true artist. So, my advice to the Photographers who fall into the category of #2 is to hang in there, and keep going, keep being creative, and keep making a name for yourself. There are people who appreciate and look for great photos. The ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY is alive and well, and for those who recognize it will continue to learn, to get the better equipment, will try to live their dream of making beautiful photos for those who enjoy ART.
